LIFEPAK CR Plus Defibrillator now only £800+vat!

Paramedical First Aid Training online shop now has the LIFEPAK CR Plus AED to buy at an amazing low cost price of £800+vat. A fully or semi automatic defibrillator, with low maintenance and running costs.

With a simple two-step process the CR Plus gives the first person to respond to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victim the confidence they need to help save a life. A responder only needs to:

• Turn on the device

• Apply the QUIK-PAK™ electrode pads to the victim

The Semi automatic model of the LIFEPAK CR Plus AED is designed to tell the rescuer when to deliver a shock only if it determines a heart needs it.

This AED is also easy to own and maintain. Synchronized replacement of the electrodes and battery CHARGE-PAK™  will keep your maintenance burden at a minimum, plus a visible readiness display with four indicators, lets you know it’s ready to do its job.

Effective in maximizing the chance for survival

Although not everyone can be saved from sudden cardiac arrest, studies show that early defibrillation can dramatically improve survival rates. The LIFEPAK CR Plus AED has the capability to escalate to an industry leading 360 joules when necessary, providing the extra power that may be needed for hard-to-defibrillate victims. Defibrillation and CPR prompts are consistent with AHA guidelines, and because the LIFEPAK CR Plus AED uses the same electrodes as other LIFEPAK devices, the choice of more EMS units worldwide than any other brand—critical time can be saved transferring victims to professional medical care.

New AoFAQ Emergency First Aid at Work qualification changes from a Level 2 to a Level 3

Form the 1st October 2017 the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification has changed from a Level 2 to a Level 3. These changes more closely reflect the activities and responsibilities of the First Aider and falls in line with the First Aid at Work and Paediatrics First Aid qualifications.

The Qualification Specification indicates the Learning Outcomes (LOs) and the Assessment Criteria (ACs) remain basically the same as the Level 2. The main difference is that more emphasis is given to certain subject areas than before. An example of this being ,CPR must include: ‘correct placement of AED pads’ and ‘follows AED instructions’. First Aiders currently holding a valid Level 2 EFAW qualification do not require requalification to the Level 3 EFAW until their existing qualification expires, so don’t panic!

The Level 3 one day course is ideal for nominated persons responsible for the First Aid provision in low hazard environments, or where your needs assessment identifies a requirement for a first aider trained in emergency first aid at work. It’s a great course, with plenty of practical content so you not only have the knowledge, but feel confident in administering Emergency First Aid. Please contact us for details.

Adrenaline Auto-Injector Pens (AAI’s) in Schools

New legislation allows “spare” emergency adrenaline auto-injector pen in schools.

This legislation was passed in Westminster last week to allow schools in the UK to keep spare adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) for emergency use. AAIs deliver a potentially life-saving dose of adrenaline in the event of a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). The legislation comes into effect from 1 October 2017. Here is the link.

New course- Equestrian First Aid

Paramedical First Aid Training is now delivering Equestrian First Aid. Falls from horses can cause significant injury, so it is necessary that all those involved know how to deal with such accidents and injuries.

It is very important that everyone involved with horses, knows how to administer First Aid. This includes riders, instructors,  competitors, volunteers, and grooms. Every professional must have a recognised First Aid qualification, to enable inclusion on the register of instructors.

The British Horse Society (BHS), requires you to complete a First Aid at Work (FAW) 3 day course, which focuses on the injuries sustained while handling and riding horses.  This course is 18 hours of practical teaching over three days. If you currently own a FAW, which is due to expire, you will need to complete a FAW requalification two-day course. This is 12 hours of practical teaching over two days. These courses meet HSE criteria and guidelines, and are accepted by the BHS.

This course is ideal for groups, with special onsite price’s starting with just 5 people.
