From October 1st 2013, it is no longer a requirement for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to approve first aid training and qualifications. Businesses now have more flexibility to manage their provision of first aid in the workplace.
First aid providers are required to be prepared at any time to demonstrate how they maintain standards and satisfy HSE criteria. It is therefore down to the individual to identify and select competent training providers, and if required produce evidence to support this process.
Due to this change in legislation, we are now able to offer two types of courses:
Regulated Courses
First aid qualifications guided by qualification regulators, i.e. Office of Qualifications and Examinations (OFQUAL). Certified by our OFQUAL regulated awarding bodies, The Association of First Aiders (AFOA), and Qualsafe Awards.
Unregulated Courses
Courses independent of any regulated scheme, maintaining high standards and identical content, fulfilling all HSE requirements. Certificated by Paramedical First Aid Training Ltd.
Due to self certification on unregulated courses, we are able to offer these at reduced rates.
